The Capital Soccer Club Staff has become even bigger and stronger than ever before. Placing a priority on player and team development, the Capital SC coaches are teachers of the game who understand the importance of education, economical training, healthy competition, vision planning, communication, organization, and a willingness to strive and succeed. Throughout Vermont, Capital SC is known for possessing a unique value in which the players are challenged; yet supported in a dynamic and creative atmosphere.

Capital SC Staff Bio’s

Peter Kim – One of the founders of Capital Soccer, Peter is the head coach of the nationally-ranked Middlebury College Women’s Soccer Program, where he is the winningest coach in the program’s 40 year history. During his tenure, the Panthers have advanced to the post season every year, including three trips to the NCAA Round of 16.  He has been named NESCAC Coach of the Year three times, and his players have consistently earned regional and national recognition both on and off the field.  He also serves as Director of Coaching and Player Development for Capital Soccer Club, which he co-founded in 2001 after the successful launch of Capital Soccer’s summer camps and indoor programs in 1999. He has coached every age group within CSC, and his teams have won numerous league, tournament, and state cup titles, and earned a 4-4-4 record in the Region I Championships.  He currently holds his USSF “A” License, NSCAA Premier Badge, and is both an Associate National Staff member of the NSCAA and a Region I Staff Coach for USYSA Olympic Development Program.  He earned his Masters Degree in Public Administration at UVM, where he received the Marshall E. Dimock Award for Academic Excellence and Professional Leadership. He has served on the board of directors for the Vermont Youth Soccer Association, Vermont State (Adult) Soccer Association, and the Vermont Amateur Soccer League.  Peter played his collegiate soccer at UVM before an injury ended his career after his sophomore year. He returned to the field after college to spearhead what became the three-time Founder’s Cup champion Capital SC men’s team, and created and co-founded the state’s top amateur league, VASL. In addition, Peter has traveled extensively, examining youth systems in Brazil, Chile, the Netherlands, Germany, and Scandinavia.  His coaching career got its start right here in Central Vermont, with the Barre Amateur Soccer Association, Spaulding HS, and Montpelier HS, before earning his way into the college ranks a decade ago. Peter lives with his wife, Brianna, and their 11-month old daughter, Eloise, in Shelburne.

George Cook – Co-Founder of Capital Soccer, George has a long and successful list of coaching accomplishments in his soccer career.  After graduating from Castleton State College, where he captained the team in 1993, he began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater.  Then, in 2003, he became an assistant coach with the University of Vermont women’s team, eventually becoming the program’s interim Head Coach in 2006. Prior to coaching in college, George was one of Vermont’s most successful high school coaches at Montpelier High School.  There, his teams earned two trips to the state title match, and he was named Vermont State Soccer Large School Coach of the Year in 2000. He has coached both boys and girls teams with Capital Soccer Club since co-founding it in 2001, developing numerous players who went on to compete at the college level. Growing up in Manchester, CT, he played club soccer for the renowned Oakwood Soccer Club, one of the top club programs in the US, and later joined the staff at his former club. He holds a USSF “A” License and NSCAA Premier Badge.  He also earned his Master’s Degree Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont, and is currently the Community Based Learning Program Coordinator at U-32 High School.  George lives in Montpelier with his wife, Carrie, and their two children, Cameron and Alex.

Eric Bagley – One of the most recognizable and influential coaches in Vermont over the past two decades, Coach Bagley has positively impacted hundreds of soccer players in the region. The four-time Vermont High School state champion has won two titles with the Montpelier HS Girls and two with the MHS Boys. In total, he has taken his teams to an unprecedented seven state championship matches in 16 years. He has been named the Capital League Coach of the Year four times, and selected to coach the Vermont Twin State team on two occasions.  Few coaches have been so highly decorated: Vermont large school Coach of the Year once, Vermont Division 2 Coach of the Year once, and Capital League Coach of the Year four times.
 
"Bags” joined the CSC staff in 2002, and has since coached every age group. His teams have won numerous Vermont State Cups, league titles, and tournament trophies. In addition, he conducts the club’s technical training, and serves as CSC’s Director of Administration. Most importantly, he is known for developing highly skilled, respectful players and teams.
 
He grew up in Barre, attending Spaulding High School, where he played both soccer and basketball before attending Champlain College. He holds national coaching certifications from both the US Soccer Federation and the NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches.

Joe Yalicki - Joe played soccer for Harwood Union High School before attending The University of New Hampshire where he studied Business, Marketing, and Kinesiology. Upon graduating in 2013, he began his path as a coach and teacher due to a passion for working with kids. Joe has Head Coached boys and girls teams for Capital Soccer ranging from U12 to U19 since joining the club in 2014. Joe was honored with the CSC Impact Award in 2020. Joe continues to teach Physical Education and Health at Stowe Middle and High School, since starting in 2017. During the Fall, Joe coaches the Harwood boys soccer team. He was an assistant for 4 years before he started running the program in 2018. In 2019 and 2021 he was recognized as the NVAC Capital League Coach of the year. Joe has worked as a camp counselor at Lotus Lake Camp in Williamstown, VT since 2005. Joe holds a USSF D license.  

Rob Moran -  Rob grew up in Barre and played his high school soccer at Spaulding High School before attending Champlain College and UVM.  Coach Moran got his start coaching in the Barre Amateur Soccer Club.  After six years coaching, he took over as the main administrator and coordinator. During his time with Barre, Coach Moran started coaching boys’ soccer at Spaulding High School. After 20 seasons with the boy’s program coach Moran made the move to the girl’s side at Spaulding. During his time at Spaulding Rob has been named coach of the year for the Capital league twice, Lake league once, and in his second year with the Spaulding girls he was named large school Coach of the Year.  He has also secured the Capital league Championship with the boy’s program twice and won the league with the Girls program in his 3rd year.  Coach Moran has been with Capital soccer since 2005 taking a short time off after the birth of his daughter Mollie. He brings a love and passion for the game and is excited to be back with Capital Soccer. Rob currently holds his USSF National D License.

Christy McShea Christy McShea grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Vermont in 2011 to attend Vermont Law School. She currently practices law at the Vermont Land Trust.  During high school, Christy played as a Varsity player for Franklin Regional and her team won the Section Championship in 2003 and 2004. Christy also played for the PA West Olympic Development Program and Beadling Soccer Club, a club team which won the PA West State Championship all four years that she played for them. After high school, she went on to play Division III soccer at Allegheny College and earned a spot on the NCAC All-Conference Second Team. She served as a captain during here senior year at Allegheny. She has never lost her love for the game and has enjoyed her transition from player to coach. While in Vermont, Christy served as head coach at South Royalton High School in 2015, as Assistant Coach at Montpelier High School since 2016, and is the Vice President of Women's Soccer for the Vermont State Soccer Association.

Mike Noyes - Mike Noyes grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania, and graduated from Drexel University with degrees in Business Management and Elementary Education.  He began coaching high school soccer in 1997, and was the boys varsity coach at Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, VT, for 10 years While at Hazen, he was league representative to the VSCA, and won league coach of the year.   There he founded and was director of the Hardwick Soccer Club until moving to central Vermont.  In 2014, he began coaching at U-32 and is currently the head coach of the boys varsity program.  He has been with Capital Soccer since 2019.

Emmanuel Riby-Williams - Emmanuel grew up in Ghana and came to Vermont in 2001. He was a three-year college player and also played at the tier-two level of the Ghana Football Association’s soccer league. Coach Riby-Williams also had successful tryouts with elite premier league side Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana premier league.  Since arriving in Vermont, Coach Riby-Williams has coached the Onion River U-14 boys, Capital Soccer U-10, U-14, and U-16 boys and now the U-19 boys.  He also coached the U-32 Girls’ Varsity soccer team for five years.  Emmanuel holds a USSF D-License, a BA from Johnson State College, Teacher’s Certificate “A” from SDA Teacher Training College in Ghana, and a MS in Sports Management from American Public University.  Currently, Coach Riby-Williams teaches PE at Union Elementary School in Montpelier.  

Stephen LaRock - Stephen played soccer for Harwood Union High School where he is currently the JV Boys Soccer Coach. Coach LaRock has coached soccer at both the middle school and high school levels. He coached 7th and 8th grade boys soccer at Crossett Brook Middle School from 2012-2016 and coached JV Girls Soccer in Williamstown/Northfield in 2017. Coach LaRock has been the JV Boys Soccer Coach at Harwood since 2018. Stephen is a graduate of Champlain College where he studied Business Management, is a former employee of the Harwood Unified Union School District where he worked as a paraprofessional educator for five years and Director of Athletics for four years at Crossett Brook Middle School. He is currently employed as a Behavior Interventionist for Green Mountain Behavior Consulting Inc., where he has been working since 2016.

Nathan D'Aversa - Nathan grew up in New Jersey where he played for the Jersey Knights before attending NJIT to play Division 1 College soccer.  Coach D'Aversa has coached for Vermont ODP as well as other clubs in Vermont.  One of the strongest players on our Men's Amateur team, Nate's position of choice is center midfield and he enjoys following Real Madrid in La Liga.  

Rebecca Mitchell - Rebecca Mitchell grew up near Baltimore where she played soccer for various club teams and at McDonogh School, winning the IAAM "A" Conference championship in 2011 and 2013 with the varsity team.  She attended the University of St Andrews, where she played for the women's first team, competing in BUCS Scottish Division 1.  At St Andrews, she served as Vice Captain of the first team in her fourth year, held various committee positions for the women's club, and was selected to participate in the Saints Leadership Programme.  After obtaining a J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, Rebecca moved to Vermont to work as a law clerk.  She coached the Montpelier High School Girls' JV team in 2022 and for Vermont ODP in 2023, and has been with Capital Soccer since 2022.
